GO KART FUNDRAISER
I just wanted to let everybody know that
although my position has changed to Vice
President, I look forward to continuing in
the efforts of the FPA.  There are so many
opportunities out there for our kids and it
will take us all actively pursuing them to get
our kids what they need!

What the Association has meant to me is,
making information and resources readily
available to the foster families, as well as
providing them with a opportunity to
communicate with families in similar
situations.  The more foster homes we have
the better chance the agency has to place a
child in the best home for him or her.  The
better the placement, there will be less
chance of a  disruption. The less children
they have to place in a home, the more we
can focus on more than just their basic
needs. The truth is  there isn't anything
basic about these kids and really need us to
be in their corner.

I have enjoyed working with everyone on
the board, at DFCS, and foster families,
and look forward in assisting the new
President in continuing making this
Association a strong and productive
organization. Congratulations to our New
President Heath Secrist!
Secretary-Wanda Ragland was a write in
for secretary & has since declined,
however Jennifer Berry was also a write in
& has cheerfully accepted the position.

Congratulations and welcome aboard!

Treasurer– Alma Duke was voted in a
Treaseure/bookeeper and has accepted the
position!

All other elected positions are also accepted

I am happy to announce that this years first
Go-Kart fundraiser has been one of the
biggest fundraisers we have done so far.
We sweated it out at Wal-Mart on the 15th
and 29th and at the  Fairgrounds the 20th
and 21st. Thank-you to  Jennifer Berry,
Wanda Ragland, Debra Stegall, Helen
Poytress, Sheri Verhalen, Syndee
Holtzclaw, Heath Secrist and Ashlie
McElroy for hanging gout with us in the
heat!  Also a thank-you to all who helped
make this fundraiser a big success!

A big thank-you goes out to the community
t as well-  Towery Chiropractic helped
raise over $1500  during  a  patient
appreciation day they held at their office,
Print-Source donated the first set of raffle
tickets for free, Cold Stone Creamery was
a $250 sponsor for the go-Kart,  Coweta
Custom Cycles let us keep the go-kart at
the shop and  sold tickets, Headly Heating
and Air, Dr. Bryan Geerlings, and Gerall
Griffin Construction all purchased $100
worth of tickets.
The winner was Sedric Bowles from
Newnan, and the winning ticket was
purchased at Wal-Mart.  He stated that he
had only purchase one ticket….which only
goes to prove… it only take one! The go-
kart was  picked up on Aug the 5th.
Thanks again to all who participates in
ticket sales!
